Performing Arts Festival All Set for Return
6:04am 22nd September 2015
World-class theatre, music and performing arts will be back in Darlington in two weeks time.
The Jabberwocky Market returns for the fifth time with many new performers taking to stages around the town.
Acts for the opening launch night include Newcastle-based band, Mush, poet and comedian Kate Fox, innovative dance theatre show PARKED and a brand new event for the children called 'Kids Gigs'.
The Burbant Street Brass Band will perform at the very first Kids Gigs for children aged up to 10, which is being hosted by the Darlington Library on Crown Street.
The festivals launch night will have the performers on the stage of Liddiard Theatre at Polam Hall School with the opening event ticketed on a 'Pay What You Decide' basis.
"I am so genuinely excited about this programme, I'm always pleased but I can't wait for every single act," said Darlington-born Caroline Pierce, who is the producer of the event.
"I just want everyone to come down and see how good they are for themselves."
The Jabberwocky Market opens it's doors on Thursday 1st October, with it coming to an end on Sunday 4th with tickets available from the Dolphin Centre, Be Premiere Hair on Blackwell Gate and the Jabbervan when you see it around town.
"It is genuinely some of the best theatre that's around at the moment," continued Pierce.
"It's such a treat, relatively cheap, the stories are beautiful and I think people will have a lovely time if they come".
A limited number of tickets will be available on the door at each show so pre-booking is advised to avoid disappointment.
