Multi-Million Pound Development Starts For East Durham College

East Durham College have announced that work has begun on the Houghall Campus.
The multi-million pound redevelopment will see a host of improvements to the main building including a new lobby and reception area, improved classrooms and learning spaces.
The building-work on the Durham-based campus, officially got underway yesterday following preliminary enabling which took place over the summer.
Funding for the project was awarded to the college from The North East Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), with £10m capital investment as part of the Government's Local Growth Fund.
"On behalf the board I would like to thank the north east LEP for this contribution," said David Butler, Chair at East Durham College.
"We thank them for recognising the importance of land based skills training to the north east economy."
They aim to have work all finished by September 2016.
